Contents Page
This is my contents page and I am going to demonstrate how I intend to attract/address my audience. First, I have my logo at the very top, which is key to it becoming recognized by browsers in a shop. I tried to differentiate the fonts between having the distinctive 'MB' sign with 'This week' in italics. It immediately becomes more bold to the reader with the differentiation between fonts. The bottom right hand corner holds an advertisement which i have developed as an idea from another magazine. The idea of it is to gain a customer loyalty base in which i can build and expand on, and use for future sales promotions. This directly addresses the audience as individuals, and makes them feel more connected to the brand.
I have adopted the layout for the contents from another magazine which i have developed using differing font styles, sizes, colours etc, to gain the desired effect. My magazine also addresses the audience with the quote "Could YOU be the one", for one of the featured pages which is helping the audience build a bond almost with the magazine, and make you almost think that you could be in with a chance! It also brings the celebrities and artists closer together with the readers.
Double Page spread
My double page spread includes a layout featured in many magazines. The main image overlapping the other page slightly to join it all together. The first thing the reader will look at is the image, and as all the boys from DMA are looking at the camera, the reader automatically feels closer to them. The next thing the reader will look at is the large text or heading above the picture. This summarises what the article will be about, and attracts the reader to read the article and find out what they are talking about. However first, the eyes will wander towards the quote which entices the reader to definitely make sure they read the article! This quote gives just enough information so you know what it is about, but not enough for you to be satisfied. I have tried to major on this as much as possible and gained inspiration and ideas from other magazines such as NME and MOJO for this particular part of my magazine.
My target audience would be teenagers of all ages. Anyone who interested in a diverse range of popular chart music as well as some rock greats in the modern industry. This could be more aimed at men, however this article for my double page spread would be particularly aimed at younger girls who are the predominant fan base of DMA.
